L’Alfàs del Pi, 13 September 2025 – Last weekend, as part of the Meeting of Patients and Families of the Alicante Association for the Fight Against Cancer held at THE COMM Senior Living, two key agreements were signed to strengthen care and support for people with cancer and their families in this municipality.

On the one hand, the Town Council of l’Alfàs del Pi renewed its agreement with the Association Against Cancer (AACC), with a budget of €3,000, with the aim of continuing to promote psychological care programmes, physiotherapy, creative workshops and the loan of orthopaedic equipment in the municipality.

On the other hand, THE COMM Medical Centre formalised its collaboration agreement with the AACC, expanding the medical services available to members. Thanks to this alliance, the association’s cancer patients and their families can access a specialised medical-nutritional assessment consultation in Internal Medicine, as well as special conditions in physiotherapy, podiatry, dentistry and cardiology services.

In addition, this agreement also allows for the joint organisation of workshops and talks aimed at the physical and emotional well-being of patients and their families at THE COMM senior living facilities, which are made up of a supportive and participatory international community of residents.

The event was attended by the mayor of l’Alfàs del Pi, Vicente Arqués, and the Councillor for Social Welfare and Health, Marisa Cortés. Representing the AACC were its president, Pablo Enríquez, the provincial manager, Mª Belén Ortiz, and the president of the local board, Maribel Torres. Representing THE COMM were Rafa Miró, director of senior living, and Carolina Pérez, director of THE COMM Medical Centre.

The day was rounded off with social activities organised by the AACC: lunch at the viewpoint on the way to the lighthouse, guided tours of the Villa Romana Museum in l’Albir and the Molí de Mànec, and a fellowship meal that brought together around a hundred patients, family members and volunteers.

With this new collaboration, THE COMM Medical Centre reaffirms its commitment to comprehensive, accessible and humane medical care.
