Born in Maastricht, the Netherlands, he studied medicine and specialised in cardiology and haemodynamics at the University of Amsterdam. He has lived on the Costa Blanca since 2008, where he is currently head of the Cardiology Department at a local hospital. A specialist in haemodynamics and interventional cardiology, Dr. Braat is defined by his passion for his profession and his personalised approach to his patients.

He has a Master’s Degree in Dermatological Podiatry from the University of Valencia and specialises in foot pathologies in both adults and young children. He stands out due to his personalised, close treatment of his patients.

Dr. Shojaie y Dra. Khodaie

The dentists Dr. Shojaie and Dr. Khodaie have a degree in Dentistry from the University of Amsterdam and have been working on the Costa Blanca for more than 15 years. They specialise in general dentistry, endodontic treatment, dental surgery and implantology. Our dentists are known for focusing on their patient’s well-being, and are known for being very careful when explaining treatments to patients. Their priority is to make treatments as painless as possible and they specialise in treating children and people who are afraid of going to the dentist.

After her career as a sports teacher in Amsterdam, she studied physiotherapy at the University of Utrecht, the Netherlands, where she practised her profession for years, as well as in the ICU of different hospitals. Since 2002 she has been working as a physiotherapist on the Costa Blanca, where she has been the director of the Vall de Xaló medical centre in Jalón. With more than 20 years’ experience, Monique specialises in sports physiotherapy and manual therapy, post and pre-surgical rehabilitation as well as cardiovascular rehabilitation and rehabilitation of neurological diseases such as Parkinson’s disease.

Dra. Marina Caballé

Internal Medicine

A native of the Costa Blanca, she studied and completed her hospital training in Alicante and postgraduate studies at the University of Barcelona and the Vall D’Hebrón Hospital. Her specialisation in internal medicine gives her a global view of the sick person. In recent years she has dedicated herself to clinical nutrition and to improving the quality of life of her patients by creating a Hospital Nutritional Support Unit. She also has an interest in healthy ageing and supplementation with experience in the luxury wellness area. She stands out for her closeness and active listening.

Sofía Cortés

Graduated in Human Nutrition and Dietetics at the University of Alicante, she has developed her profession at clinical, sports and nutritional education level. In the last two years she has been able to help thousands of patients with nutrition online, always from a holistic approach to this discipline.

Dr. Henk Koenders

After completing his studies in general medicine at the University of Nijmegen (The Netherlands), Dr. Koenders worked for several years as a physician in nursing homes in his home country. Then he lived in Greece for 4 years and moved to Africa for 1 year, where he broadened his experience as a general practitioner. In 1988 he settled in Spain to work as a family doctor and in 2011 he decided to open his own clinic in L’Alfàs del Pi, where he has been practicing since then.

Dra. Birgitta Skavoll

General Medicine

Birgitta Skavoll has a degree in general medicine from the University of Oslo (Norway) and a degree in physiotherapy from the Saxion Hogeschool in Enschede (The Netherlands). Thanks to this double training she has specialized in the treatment of metabolic diseases and in the application of pressure waves for musculoskeletal problems. Birgitta has worked for more than 10 years as a general practitioner and physiotherapist in different health centers in Norway. She currently lives with her family on the Costa Blanca, where she has been working as a general practitioner since 2021.
